When my girlfriend and I lived there we had numerous issues, some tenant related, some management related, and some maintenance related. Everything that has been said on this site is true, so I will not reiterate. Instead, I will add on to it by describing my own experiences.

First, we moved into a building that was newly renovated. New counter tops and new (albeit low quality) appliances. The dishwasher was the noisiest one I've ever heard. My girlfriend described the building, quite accurately, as a Gussied up prostitute. Sure, it may look nice on the surface, but once you get underneath all the new "makeup," its just a filthy, disease-ridden wh.0re.

Our personal experiences included a downstairs neighbor who blasted their tv until 3 or 4 in the morning. I went down multiple times to ask them to turn it down, and every time I went down there, I was sure they were on some illegal drugs. Those smells constantly wafted into our apartment, even with the windows closed (Open, it would have been worse). I guess they forgot to keep it down because they were so high. We called the police once, but it continued. We tried to get management involved, but their solution was to get the parties together to work out a compromise. They didnt even offer to give a warning to the other tenants first. I have a compromise. How about you not play your tv at 40 decibels at 4am, and I wont call the cops about your drugs.

The 2nd incident came because there is not enough parking. They issue one parking pass per apartment, and have additional limited visitor parking, marked by "visitor" written on the spot, as well as signs marking the edge of the visitor space areas. One time, I arrived home late, and since I parked visitor, I was stuck finding a spot. I went through the entire complex and only found one visitor spot available. Or so I thought. I thought it was a visitor spot because the "<- visitor parking" sign was right in front of it. But it wasnt a visitor parking spot, since the spot wasnt marked as such. I argued with the management about it, because every other section had their edge signs in front of the final visitor spot, not 1 space over, but they pulled some BS and refused to pay for the towing fees. They went so far as to pull int he tow truck driver to get his opinion. As if he cares, or would even agree to him giving up money.

3rd, The vent above our toilet dropped water randomly. Which was quite unpleasant when you're sitting down to use the bathroom, and disgusting toilet/bath water splashes down on your lap. We called maintenance to repair it about 6 months into our lease. They took forever to come, but didnt give us any warning, and didnt have a spare key to our apartment, which is comforting in case we were ever locked out.

4th, I came to find one monday morning when trying to go into work that the driver side door handle of my car had been snapped off. I dont know if it was due to a bad tow truck driver clipping my door handle as he towed another car, or some a-holes singling out my car to mess with, but it happened.

People just throw their trash in the vicinity of the giant dumpster, and not in it. The gym equipment is crap. 1 Treadmill broke and the other was breakign when I left.

Do not live here. It is awful. There are better places for cheaper, now that they've raised their prices.

I agree 100% ... I posted a while ago my issues. My cars were towed three times, even with the stickers in place, but because my windows were 'tinted' it was my fault. It got to the point, the last time I came home and my vehicle was missing, I waited until Monday morning, was going to call the police, and it 'magically' re-appeared on the other side of the lot. They confessed they had it for four days, and wanted me to sing them praises because they returned it. Welcome to Colvin Woods ...The home of pay in 5 dayz ... OR GET OUT

This is all untrue, I have 2 parking decals, they give you one for each vehicle that you have registered with the DMV. Yeah, and everywhere you live in VA you have 5 days to pay rent or leave, thats the law, ignorance is no excuse. Try paying your rent on time, and actually registering your vehicles.
