I was pleasantly surprised when I found this apartment complex, as it was much cheaper than other facilities in Reston and had large, sunny apartments. Only after I had moved into a ground floor 1 BR apartment did I realize WHY it was so cheap - roaches greeted me in the kitchen on my first day there. I could hear everything the 10 (yes, I also had 10 people living above me) people above me were doing - every morning at 5:30am I was woken up by my upstairs neighbor getting out of bed and walking to the bathroom. The floors & ceilings are PAPER THIN! Many shady characters hanging out on the stoops. Lots of jalopies in the parking lot just rusting away (should have been my first sign of trouble). Cops were in the complex about once a month - I later learned it's the "3rd worst" neighborhood in Reston according to local police, but don't take my word for it, just call them and ask (preferrably BEFORE you sign a lease!) I also remember waking up one morning and looking out my window to see crime scene tape on the trees due to a rape that had occurred a few units down (this was back in Spring 2000). Laundry facilities were hit or miss depending on what unit you lived in. My sister once visited for the weekend and had her car towed by the scumbag tow service that another reviewer mentioned. I spent a miserable year here and couldn't wait for my lease to end so I could MOVE OUT! Consider yourself warned...
