We moved in to a 2bd/2ba apartment in 2007, we got a great deal on the rent and thank goodness for that! The apartments are not worth the "market value" the leasing office posts.

The community does not account for the "Reston Association" fee in your rent, so be prepared to put down a non-refundable $400 (or more) upon move-in.

When we moved in, it was a quiet and safe community.

As Harbor Park is next to an elementary school, there are often school buses parked along Center Harbor Rd. (not a problem), however, we noticed frequent grafitti to the buses and other items (electricity boxes, newspaper stands, etc.).

Weeks before our lease ran out there was a massive car break-in where 8 cars had windshields broken and various electronics stolen. We learned that there had been several multi-car break-ins in the community and the leasing office did nothing to notify residents. In fact it was over a week after the 8 car break-in that the office finally posted flyers alerting residents.

Our decision was made and it was time to move out.

There were break ins not only in Harbor Park, but in other communities around Reston that same week. I am a resident here and I also own a navigation system and I make sure to remove it and any valuables from a potential thief's sight AT ALL TIMES. Anyone who cannot accept responsibility for leaving their valuables in plain sight is asking for a thief to break in to their vehicles. We have not had any break-ins or illegal activities since that time. I feel very comfortable living here and feel like this site is made for only complainers!!
