The convenience of being close to everything is a real plus. Location is great - but getting out of the development is hazardous. Traffic is horrendous.

Aging process is beginning to show and with current potential plans to tear down buildings and construct midrise apartments, exterior maintenance has become spotty. There is the beginning of a slightly "seedy" look except in the area of the rental office, which is always very well landscaped and maintained.

Appliances are beginning to wear out and need replacing. Office personnel and maintenance personnel are extremely cooperative and individual requests are taken care of without delay. But maintenance personnel apparently are encouraged to "fix" rather than replace, which guarantees that the problem(s) will recur - - and they do, which is normal in buildings of this age.

I don't believe Summit's corporate management want to recognize that there are many new apartment developments in Reston/Herndon with units available - - new stuff at comparable prices! When I moved in this was the newest place in town. That's no longer the case.

If new construction plans do not materialize, I would highly recommend Summit, but I would also get a guarantee that appliances, carpet, etc. are new.
