The Metropolitan is a beautiful building. There is no doubt about that, but the management does not maintain the building very well. The last time I checked, the theater room didnt work for the longest time. The roof level offers XM radio that doesnt work. The flat screen tvs in different locations doesnt work. The fireplace doesnt work. The jacuzzi didnt work for a period of time during the summer. The wireless network didnt work. For the longest time, we had a pool table with no pool balls and the parking garage didn't work for three months. The computers in the business center didnt work. The printer nevers works. Several lightbulbs on various floors would go out, but it took them weeks to replace them. I understand things don't work, but they are in no rush in fixing or replacing things around the building. For example, I had a leak in the ceiling of my bathroom, it took them about 4 hours to show up and two and a half weeks to patch the hole.

Also they charge for everything. A two room apartment gets one space and has to pay for any extra parking. And using the recreational room cost the tenants money to rent. And when you call to the office, they say that they will call you back to resolve your issue, but to date, I still have not had a call back.

So I give the Metropolitan its credit for being a beautiful brand new rise in Reston Town Center, but its not meet all of the hype surrounding it. My advice- if you want to appear rich, the Metropolitan is the place to be. But if you want quality, go somewhere else. It is ironic that the management speaks of "perfection" and "quality" as if it is their standard.

I agree with him. I live there also and the problems he mentioned are real. If they are serious about quality and service, they need to hire a more proactive management team.

this is in response to @eyelivetheretoo2's response above... just to clarify that there is indeed XM radio on the roof.. its on those wall-based digital panels which are like universal remote controls to access the tv, dvd player etc. one of those options is XM radio, and it doesnt work! I've lived here 6 months, and ive tried it out many times when I go up to play pool, and its never worked! no biggie though.. its an awesome rooftop lounge otherwise!!

Anonymous is a retard. Just because there's a button on the remote doesn't mean there's XM Radio. Crazy to think that it never works huh? Listen people, keep on bitching. What other building in the area has all the things this place has? A rooftop pool, 24/7 front desk service, 4 levels of underground parking... Really, read your lease before you complain about all the ridiculous fees. If your dog craps all over your apartment you should expect to pay for it when you move out. Would you get away with trashing your hotel room and not paying for it? I don't think so. And all the people that work here, they are the nicest, most responsive people. They have ALL worked very hard to make me comfortable living here. I have even asked them to do petty things like call me a cab and no one has complained or treated me badly. Whatever... For the most part the people on here would rather ----- then talk about all the good things about the building and the staff. It's easier to complain then compliment.
