Read this before you move here!!

This place is not the worst- it's liveable and decently clean, but for what they charge in rent, it ought to be a LOT better. We paid good money here for all the ---- we dealt with. Following are the things that I was extremely displeased with:
1.General condition of the apartment. Things were always breaking. Upon moving in, our dishwasher was broken. No one came to fix it for weeks (despite several calls to maintenance). Cupboards and kitchen drawers don't close correctly. Our shower knob fell off twice. The bathroom floor is cracked and dingy... no matter how much you scrub it won't look clean. We had trouble with our front door lock. Our AC broke on the hottest day of summer. (To be fair, they DID come fix this right away).
2. The maintenance. This has got to be the WORST I have EVER SEEN. In the beginning (except for that one initial dishwasher incident in which maintenence didn't show up for weeks), they were ok. They'd usually come when called. However, as time wore on they just started completely ignoring our calls when things went wrong/broke. We ended up fixing most things ourselves. The best thing I can say is that I have greatly improved my plumbing, carpentry, and appliance-repair skills as a result of living here.
3.The noise level. If you do move here, insist on the top floor. Do not budge on this one if you ever want to sleep again. You'll thank me later.
Things I was happy with:
1. The management staff. Generally all pleasant people, always smiling. I think they even know most people by name.
2. Apartment size. The bedrooms/living area are pretty large, for an apartment.
3. No bug problems. I hate bugs, and to my relief we never had a problem.
