The common areas are not consistently maintained. The carpet is always dirty and they'll give you excuses. They've been promising it was going to be replaced for a year. The elevators are dirty--dog urine left all day. Beer cans and liquor bottles in plain view for days. Don't be fooled by the "secure" entrances--it's a farce. For weeks, the walk-in/out gate to the parking area was accessible, all you needed to do was push the gate. My car decal has been stolen twice in 8 months. The mini washer/dryers only can effectivel handle 3 pairs of jeans or 1 sheet, anything more will not get clean unless you was them twice. The units are beautiful but getting requested maintenance takes much too long and is poorly completed. For the money you'll pay, you WILL NOT get what you pay for. Every person I've met in the elevator whose been here for 3 or more months has expressed the same and can't wait until the end of their lease.

Dear Anonymous, As Property Manager of the 17th Street Lofts, I have to say that you have my property confused with another apartment building. The 17th Street Lofts are located at 333 Oliver Hill Way and that is the property for which this posting is under, but I can tell from details in your post that it is in fact not my property. The 17th Street Lofts do not have carpet in any common areas and only a select few apartments have carpet. The 17th Street Lofts are cleaned twice daily and we do not have trash laying around for days. We also do not have a security gate to our parking lot at the 17th Street Lofts it is an open parking lot with controlled access to the building itself. My maintenance supervisor is also very efficient at 17th Street Lofts and maintenance request are handled within 24 hours. I am sorry to hear that you are having a bad experience at the property where you currently reside, but I can assure you that it is not the 17th Street Lofts at 333 Oliver Hill Way. Yep, agreed - this review is definitely not about 17th Street Lofts! I have been living here a while, and the place is VERY clean. I've never seen anything even close to dog urine in the elevator. I've put in maintenance requests, and they have always been handled within 24 hours, as Beth said. I just didn't want people to get the wrong impression of the building. It's a great place to live with great convenience to the MCV campus. No noisy neighbors. Everyone's friendly. I have no complaints.
