I lived alone in a studio apartment here for 2 years. Overall I believe it was a safe place to live. The surrounding neighborhood may not have been, but I knew how to use my own common sense when coming home late and having to park a block away. Once you got to the well lit parking in front of the building and inside the secured doors you were completely safe. Having the entrance to your apartment be on the inside of the building is always good and not always an option for apartments.

The only complaints I have are that the building controls when to turn on the a/c and heat. With the way VA's weather changes so often, it was not always comfortable. I remember a few different times when it was about 85 degrees inside my room and I was so misserable. The first time that happened they gave us a rent credit, but it happened another time and they did not give us a rent credit.

The other complaint is that they started renovating all the apartments and it was mandatory that you move entirely(all your stuff too) into another apartment for 3 weeks while they changed a few things in the apartments and the rent went up about $150 more a month afterwards. I asked if they could wait 5 months until i moved out to renovate mine, but they did not give me the option. I believe my small studio was overpriced at $795/mo(including utilities) after the renovations.

Guess you never heard about the girl being held up at knife-point... or the apartment recently vandalized... or that a couple of weeks ago someone backed a truck up to the "secure" parking lot, cut a hole in the fence and stole several scooters... No one was monitoring the surveillance cameras... nor were the cameras being taped. Management conceals ALL incidents like these from the tenants. Management only cares about renting apartments!

chain your scooter up to a pole like we do downtown, if some one wants to steal something, they will find a way to do it ! banks get robbed all the time !, should we never bank again!??
