South Slope was rather shady and too close to surrounding neighborhoods that were even shadier. The cops were there at least 4 times in the whole six months I stayed there, one of which was a rather scary incident. I found out later on Richmond Crime's website that someone was stabbed! There were LOTS of spiders and I hated that. The carpet was bad looking but the places were pretty big. Would not recommend to anyone living their by themselves because it is not well lit, especially the places towards the woods. Neighbors were also shady and one time at 1:00am, someone was banging on the front door! Scary but they were probably drunk because they stopped after a while.

There was also a huge problem with loud music. We had neighbors who liked to play their loud rap stuff on Sunday and Saturday mornings around 8:00 am and usually on week day nights. Not fun if you have a job or want to sleep in!
