Birchwood is a small apartment complex tucked away in the Boulder office park. Originally built as a condo comunity, it features a small pool, sauna, weight room, dog park, picnic areas, ample parking, various spacious floor plans and excellent landscaping. The staff and maintenance personal are courtious and prompt, however, some problems require several calls to finally fix. Unfortunately the hidden downside to this cozy manicured comunity is the criminal element from surrounding neighborhoods. Although the state police have several facilities surrounding the complex, local police presence is minimal and birchwood provides no security beyond a deadbolt and the ocasionally functioning outdoor lighting. Cars without alarm systems are not safe. Apartments without additional security measures are not safe. Birchwood will not tell you if there has been recent criminal activity.

absolutely correct. Worst management ever and reviewer is right, they completely deny any knowledge of criminal activity, even after police are on property. Two weeks ago, over 1/2 of the complex was cordoned off with police cars while some tenant and a felon at that (where is that on credit application) holed himself up in the apartment for 11 hours armed>> Birchwood never did tell us) and residents could not enter, even to their own apartments. The locks on the doors are absurd
