The Cloisters is probably the most conveniently located apartment complex in Richmond, with several supermarkets, restaurants, gas stations, craft stores, and a shopping mall, all within walking distance; However, I cannot and will not recommend the Cloisters Apartments to anyone. The compound is highly thuggish, the buildings are old with constantly failing plumbing, faulty electrical wiring, and water that leaks from both the floor and cealing. I have heard gunshots several times within the two years that I have lived here, and have even witnessed my neighbors being robbed at gunpoint. I also see the police on a regular basis, unfortunately, not while they are making routine patrols of the neigborhood. The walls are entirely too thin, which pass the slightest of noises, even snoring from next door. I also feel obligated to mention that the staff in the lease office are highly unprofessional, and could care less about you or your property. Even though your vehicle will be registered on file with the front office, they employ a mercenary towing service that will tow your car, or anyone who comes to visit you, if a parking permit is not properly displayed. Take heed and spent the extra $100 a month to live in a nice, clean, and tennant friendly apartment complex. You can thank me later!
