This place was so terrible we had to break our lease and we've never had to do anything like that before. We had cigarette butts piling up in the hallway constantly, but nothing was ever done. Mold was growing everywhere in our apartment despite the fact that we were keeping it as dry as humanly possible and purchased a dehumidifier at our own cost. The noise level was very high from every direction. The fitness center was a joke and the air conditioning was often turned off not to mention that the television didn't properly work. The staff was full of excuses and was terribly unhelpful. It typically took several visits from the maintenance staff to get anything done, and a lot of times we would just give up on something getting fixed. Bugs were a major problem. We offered to switch buildings after the noise, mold and bugs became unbearable, but this was not an option. On the surface this apartment looks fine, but in realitly it's terrible. There are several Dominion Olde West locations and some are better than others. Be careful.

Oh Yes! I was told that with my new lease I would get kitchen and bathroom upgrades. Also, with my new lease the rent increased by $40. Well any normal person would think that the new upgrades were part of this $40 -- at least that is what I thought. Well I got a late charge for the next month's rent because I didn't pay $3 for the kitchen upgrade (new cabinets). Well the apartment should not have been rented with the old dirty cabinets that were in there in the first place. I wouldn't have had a problem with paying the $3 -- but how was I to know that I had to when I wasn't told. I didn't receive a notice, letter or anything stating that I would have to pay $3 extra for the new cabinets. I was totally blown by that. The hallways are disgusting. It is totally embarrasing to have your company come through the hall.
