We have lived here for exactly one year and have many complaints.
1. We asked for screens the day we moved in (the previous tenants had damaged several of them). I have asked several times since then, to which she replied "It's not the season to open your windows". Spring, Summer, and Fall came and went, still no screens.
2. NO PARKING AFTER 8PM. GOOD LUCK.
3. Many things break, to name a few, the refrigerator (we weren't refunded for our food), the bathroom sink fell off the wall, the heating unit, the kitchen sink flooded several times (they kept using simple patches and never FIXED the problem), the door was off frame and took attacking it like a linebacker to get it open, etc.
4. The management here is irresponsible and RUDE. Maintenance is IGNORANT (but very nice).
5. Insulation is HORRIBLE, can see cracks under the doors and feel breezes through closed windows.

The only pros are:
-cheap rent
-decent neighborhood
-close to Dumbarton, Staples Mill, Broad St., Brook Rd. and several shopping areas within 5 minutes.
-Not very noisy, mostly hispanic people that keep to themselves.

Hilliard Road Apartments Management and Maintenance staff strive to maintain excellence and resident satisfaction on a daily basis, however we do apologize that this resident felt otherwise and we strongly suggest communicating problems on a daily or weekly basis until resolved. Y'know, that review was more than right on. Things fall apart like the apartments weren't renovated since 1958 (which was the birthyear of this decrepid place.). I only wish I made enough money to live somewhere else, but the only alternative is southside, and as everyone knows, the southside is the ---- of Richmond. The promises made here will never come to be, and this place will always be crappy. I can live with it, I just wish I didn't have to.
