Residents vs Management

I have lived at Hunt Club not once, but twice, and only a little more than two years apart. The first time I lived here I thoroughly enjoyed the close location to interstates, management and maintenance staff, cleanliness of the apartment and facilities, and the neighborly attitude that all residents shared. Yes, it is nice to have one payment each month with the utilities included! No, I have never had a problem with my AC / heat or my hot water. Shoot, one time I came home on my lunch break and found a sign on the door stating that the water was off in the building and they were currently working on it. I came home a few hours later to find no note on the front door and my hot water functioning as normal. Now, that is speedy service, I didn't even know there was a problem!! The management and maintenance staff are an A in my book. I have nothing negative to say about the office staff, and the maintenance crew has been here for awhile and can handle anything this community has to offer. Could you imagine working on 40 year old boilers and chillers' I think not, and these guys do it daily without even blinking. They are truly an asset to this property, and all residents depend on their work to remain comfortable. Not only have I received superior customer service from the staff for a good time now, but it is always genuine, and that goes a very long way in my book. I know them by name, not because I have to, but because I want to.

Now on to the problems, as that is truly what this site is all about, right' The biggest problem: other residents. Yes, I said it, other residents. From ignorant people playing their music way too loud, far too late, and throughout the night, to people parking in more than one space because they were either drunk or think that their car needs two spaces so people don't ding the already banged-up doors. My neighbors like to play a video game that is terribly repetitive and I can not deal with the bass vibrating my walls. I don't hear their TV or any movies that they watch, it is just this repetitive game. I don't hear other people's music and I know that it isn't the walls being too thin either. It is simply that they are completely ignorant to other people's concerns that live around him. I see it in my entire building. From getting stared at and ignored asking "How are you'" walking into the building, to overhearing the most tactless cell phone conversations in the hall. Come on people, just a little discretion and common courtesy would be nice.

You have a leaky ceiling for a year' Call maintenance or walk to the office and stand there demanding that someone work on it until action is taken. You allowed it to take a year, not maintenance or the management staff. You know when the rent is due, you know when the check normally clears your account, no one can say that they didn't get any notice until they were summoned to court (how ignorant'!'!). You didn't notice that extra $700 still in your account and think to call the rental office, I think not. Grand Larceny, Auto-Theft, Vehicle Vandalism' Call the police, not the rental office. If people want to know about crime in an area it is public record, you seriously want the staff to talk to your neighbors about people breaking into your unlocked car with a post on a bulletin board' Somehow, I don't think that would work to combat the issue. It might give some of the other residents ideas. Roaches' Never seen them, not one, outside, inside, or even in the Trash Room. Speaking of a Trash Room... Nope, don't have one of those anymore because the residents didn't like to open the empty trash cans to place their trash inside. They would rather place their trash on top of these empty cans instead of opening it. Now everyone has to walk to a dumpster 100 yards away instead of downstairs. These dumpsters make the property look great!! Dogs' Yes, they allow you have dogs now. Do people pick up after their dogs' No, so careful having that game of football in the courtyard, it's a minefield. Does your dog bark' YES. Every dog barks, whether you are there to hear it or not is a different story. When your dog is barking, do something, anything besides putting it outside so all your neighbors can hear it as well. Your Chihuahua sounds like a Doberman and eliminates like a German Sheppard. I have never heard my neighbor's cat. Never!

All in all the problem here is the residents not the management or maintenance staff so unless you can move out the entire property (aside from me, of course! :p) and start new without being an Equal Housing Opportunity partner talk to your neighbors and let the staff do their job.

Thank you Hunt Club for a great property to call home!

The residents are the problem not the staff? Sounds like something the staff would say.

I am the manager of Hunt Club Apartments and would like to thank the resident who took the time to write this review. With the help of residents that think like you we can keep Hunt Club a wonderful place to call home. I have worked very hard since coming on board to meet the needs of all the residents. I have tried to address the concerns of everyone and have hoped that I have been sucessful. I too questioned if this review came from a staff member also but am glad to find out it was not. Thank you again for the wonderful review.

My sister works in property management and she said this is definitly a staff member! I live at Hunt Club and yes I do believe most of the problems are the residents, but its managements job to enforce rules and make sure it doesnt happen.
