I do not recommend living here. I had a friend who looked out of his window one night and saw two people involved in a fight. He has since moved out. The building is caked in cigarette smoke from the residents and the employees who smoke regularly directly outside the entranceway. Cigarette butts are constantly in the bushes and grass area, which is a fire hazard. The heating and cooling systems are noisy (you cannot hear your television or carry on a conversation when the heat or ac is on!). Mine was also very dirty and looked like it had mold in part of it. The apartment was very dirty when I moved in. In my experiences, mainteance requests rarely get corrected on the first try. Usually it takes two or three requests, and even then, you have to hope they know what they are doing. One of my windows didn't open, and they never fixed it. I hurt my wrists several times trying to open it.

Also, the building sits between two very loud nightclubs, and every morning from 1-2 am, you either hear the drunks walking around outside, or occasionally see a fight. I also had a gang hanging out outside of the building that I had to call the police about. Someone was held up at gunpoint a block away, and another building a block and a half away had a car and a building broken into and bikes were stolen. I have been approached in the parking lot at night by a non-resident on a bike asking for money. The quality of the residents has gone downhill. I had a drunk resident harass me in the elevator one night because I wouldn't talk to him. I didn't feel safe. Also, you can hear through the walls (everything!), even a phone conversation.

Though I lived on one of the upper floors, you can still hear all of the drunks outside at night. The also allow dogs, and so that also gets very noisy. I had high hopes for this place, but I am moving at the end of my lease. These places are overpriced, and a lot of them do not have washer-dryers as they advertise. I can honestly not recommend this place, and felt it important to let others know that although this place looks like it might be a good place it live, it is definitley not in my opinion. Let the buyer beware.

I've lived at Kensington Court for almost five years, and I love it. I do live in the main building, however, and I have the suspicion that this poster lived in the annex. The annex, I must admit, is not as good as the main building. I highly recommend this complex, but if you're a little bit picky, I suggest the main building.
