Right after we moved in the wall behind the bed in our bedroom began to leak every time it rained. Water would stream down the wall and mold began to grow. A few good storms later three more spots appeared in both bedrooms where water leaked through the walls or ceilings. We made several calls to maintenance and finally they seemed to have fixed the one major bedroom leak. They sprayed Kilz on the mold/mildew spot and repainted that one spot. They also got paint on our sheets and furniture as they didn't bother to move the things out of the way, nor did they call ahead to let us know to move them. The other three water spots remain throughout the upstairs.
The apartment is worth it for the ample closet space, but kind of sucks regarding this particular maintenance issue and because the office has "lost" the record of our paying the rent. This resulted in a couple of letters from them threatening legal action and late fees when they had received rent and the check had already cleared! I know of other residents who had problems with the main office such as grossly overcharging for move-out cleaning and double-booking an apartment for a new resident when the current resident had intended to remain there for a couple more months! I love the space the townhouse floorplan offers, but next time I think we would rather rent a house elsewhere.
