It's ok

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008
We have lived here a month, so here is what I have to say based on that:
Parking - the parking does suck. Only one reserved space per townhouse. My husband and I both work so have to have two cars....he ends up having to park very far away since he doesn't have a parking tag. It's totally ridiculous. I see empty reserved spots at night, but I think some of those are for the empty apts that are being renovated.
The Apartment: We moved into one of the renovated apts. The doors don't hang right and I can see we're going to have to seal them some way in the winter with the sticky foam to go on top of the door etc, to keep our heating bill down, as it will get drafty. The upstairs gets VERY hot, unless we really crank down the AC.
The blinds are really cheap. You can see through them, even if they are drawn and shut, depending on the light you have on...such as the light for the stairs...can see everything in the living room!
We have all new appliances which is nice!! The problem, they put the dishwasher right in the corner of where one would put their dishes and pots and pans. As a result to unload it, you have to take some of the dishes out...then close the door on the washer to be able to access both the top and bottom cabinets! DUMB!!!!! The washer and dryer are great, even though they are stackables, they are larger than most stackables so I can actually do a real full load.
The charge the pet fee and pet rent, but then don't always have the pet scooper bags available and the locations are not near every building, so if I don't supply my own, I have to walk almost over to the next street and up it to get bags! The dog park is a nice little area, but it's not double gated to prevent escapes. then they have two entrances, and my dogs got out the other day as some idiot left the other gate open and I didn't know it. The agility stuff is nice, but I'd rather have more of an open space for them to play.
I've read the reviews on the carpeting and can imagine that although my pets don't mess in the apt and I do steam clean it with my own machine, that they will probably charge us when we move out next year and blame it on the dogs, but I'm hoping that won't happen.
Some of the staff can be quite snippy and don't have good customer service skills. Also when we moved in, we paid the exact amount they told us to pay......well they made errors and we ended up owing them $115.00 more and they sent us a snippy letter about not paying the full amount, etc. when it was THEIR MISTAKE!!!
I haven't been to the pool so have no comments on that. I haven't worked out in the workout room, because we belong to a gym, but it's nice that it's there if we don't want to go all they way to the gym. It's smaller than most apts I've lived in though in other states.
For the most part it's quiet.
Our toilet upstairs runs a lot and sometimes even if not running after flushing, will suddenly start running. I have to be careful about turning off the water very tightly on the shower or it will drip. The hot water is ok, but it's hard to adjust the temperature, it's a very fine movement or it's very hot or very cold. Water pressure could be better.
The floor plan sucks as far as getting furniture in the place. WE couldn't get our queen size bed up to the BR w/o having maintenance come to take down the bannister. I'm not sure a KING would ever get up there. So beware on the type of furniture you have. Now maintenance did come for that and helped my husband take it upstairs.
