Looks Can Be Deceiving

Aside from a lack of storage space, the layout of the two bedroom apartment has an open and inviting feel. The location is also very convenient and the section of the complex that I live is quiet and serene. I don t even have a problem with parking. HOWEVER, between the exhausting application process, numerous high fees, incompetent rental office staff and the roaches - this apartment complex leaves a lot to be desired. Let me explain
I have lived at Kings Point for three years. When I was moving in my apartment was not ready and there were several problems including stains on the walls and ceilings; old, tattered wall paper in the kitchen and bathroom, large holes in the screen door to the balcony and in the cabinet under in the sink, and cracked kitchen floor tiles that were all brown instead of the intended white and black. Maintenance corrected these problems within a week, and has continued to provide good service ever since.
I was charged a REDICULOUS amount for a security deposit (particularly since I have decent credit and an impeccable rental history), and a few months after moving in I was notified that I would have to begin paying for all of the utilities even though they were included in my rent. Then when I added another individual to my lease, management attempted to charge us $1300 in fees even though we had been told for months that there would be no more than a $100 cost for this addition.
The rental office staff has continued to remain inept. Most recently my apartment was rented to someone else while I was still living in it. I had told management months earlier that I would most likely be extending my lease on a monthly basis because I didn t know if my job would require me to be moving out of state. I was not given a deadline for notifying them in writing and when I discovered that someone else would be moving into my apartment when my lease ended, I was told that a staff member that no longer worked there had called me to make sure I was moving out . I never received any such call.
While this problem has been momentarily resolved, another problem continues to linger. Within the past few months our apartment has begun crawling with roaches. The timing of this is closely related to someone new moving in below me, though I have no proof that this was the cause. I do know however, that my roommate and I keep our apartment clean and that we had no previous problems so they have to be coming from somewhere else. We have contacted the rental office on numerous occasions to complain to which their exterminator has only responded once. Once was obviously not enough and we have recently called to report this problem again. We were told someone would be coming today to spray again so we moved all of our belongings out of the kitchen (even the microwave). We left a message at the office this morning regarding this matter and no one returned the call. When the exterminator had not arrived by lunch time we called again only to be told that the person would not come until next week.
That s all I can take. If my job does not have me moving I will be looking for somewhere else to live anyway. Which is really a shame because I like my apartment and its location. But there s only so much incompetence a person can put up with.
So, I warn you not to choose Kings Point as your new home. You will eventually be ready to leave like so many of us. If, despite this warning, you decide to live here anyway, please make absolutely sure that you get everything the staff says in writing and that you keep a bottle of roach-killer nearby.

OK..I LIVED THERE FOR 2 YEARS AND STILL WOULD OF BEEN THERE IF IT WAS NOT FOR THOSE WATERBUGS AND SILVERFISH. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. PEST CONTROL CAME OUT NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT THE BUG PROBLEM CONTINUED. I HAD A BOTTLE OF RAID IN EACH ROOM. BUT OTHER THAN THAT AND THOSE UGLY BLACK AND WHITE FLOORS IT WAS COOL
