We've had similar problems with loud music & just the extent to which everyone's noises are carried through the complex in general. In most cases, I think this may be attributed to the poor structuring mentioned in the previous post. Paper thin walls...we can almost hear our neighbors conversations from certain places in the apt. However, our biggest concern & problem with living here has been management's COMPLETE LACK of attention to items needing repair & attention in the apartment &, most recently, a termite infestation. One security problem with being unable to lock/unlock one of our doors (to clarify, it was our main indoor/outdoor entrance)went on for nearly TWO YEARS with very little attention by maintenance or management to rectify the problem. Several substantial issues we have had & contacted management/maintenance to resolve have to this day have never been followed up on after several weeks and phone calls...one of these being the termite infestation I mentioned. Termites... Sounds harmless enough as far as a tenant is concerned, right? Well, not when every single day (after cleaning it the day before) your kitchen floor is covered with them---hundreds of them! Disgusting! And not at all an exaggeration! Not to mention my concern for our wood furniture just feet away from this colony and still no one will respond to our request for extermination. Other things we've had to endure since being here: car break-ins & vandalism, apartment break-ins within the complex, parking lots covered with snow/ice that management/maintenance has made no effort to clear, things being stolen from the laundry facility on site, increases in rent without notice (upon renewing the lease agreement), a rental office drop box break-in (so now rent checks must be brought by the office during office hours--inconvenient)...the list goes on & on, and for the location, the quality of property maintenance, and apartments themselves it's EXTEMELY overpriced. Bottom line---you do NOT want to live here.

Not to attack your intelligence ARBS (though you've obviously spouted off a mouthful in regard to how you perceive my lifestyle, as completely inaccurate as that may be, I chose not to indulge you in similar rants), but termites are WOOD eating insects. They eat WOOD. This has nothing to do with filth &, not that it's any of your business, but we are very "clean" people. Otherwise, just because you have never experienced similar problems does not mean they do not occur here. It's a large complex... Obviously you know this since you've been here for years. Everything I've mentioned is 100% true...otherwise why would I have taken the time to write this review? No personal vendettas against the office people. They're nice enough, in my opinion, but we pay them (i.e. rent) for efficiency. I fail to see where mentioning relevent issues that we have experienced while living here is childish... That is the point of a review, is it not? To have something more substantial to say than a personal blast? I suggest to you & other potential renters...contact the local police dept. on the # of disturbance complaints they receive from within the complex, or the number of car and apt break-ins they've been called to here. Attempt to drive through the complex days after snow & ice have fallen.. Good luck with not getting stuck because it'll all still be there (though we did not have this problem back when Marlene was managing). And as for the termites, well, give me an address and I'll be happy to mail you an envelope of the sawdust we had accumulate in our cabinets from our termite buddies that supposedly never existed.

I respect your opinion... but if you truley had termites they would have went to other units by now! It also would have been a wide spread thing. I know what termites are and know what they due! The last place I was living at had termites, so I know how they destroy because my apartment was slowly but surely crumbling. I just don't see it here. Dodson was just by taking care of the coplex, and I see them here all the time. As far as when Marlene was here... I kinda disagree on that behalf. She was not caring to the resifdents because my brother used to live here, and he had complaints that never gotten taken care of. In the results he moved b/c she never got crap straight.
I know the point of a review, but we all have a right to respond! I personally feel if you put negative you need to put your positive experiences as well. It's always good to know the pro's and con's for everything! I think you need to call Nancy to verify what your rent contributes to b/c it's goes to everything.. such as cleaning, maintnance, lanscaping, improvements to property, upgrades, pest control. But whatever, I said what I had to say.

Hello,
My name is Nancy and I am the Property Manager for Lakefield Mews. I take great pride in managing this Community. It disappoints me to read some of the ratings and comments of Lakefield Mews, but what really frustrates me, is that I am unaware of the resident�s complaints on repairs and termites. Please contact me at 222-7777, so I may address the issues you have been dealing with? My Maintenance Team prides themselves on their quick response to repairs with very few return calls.
The structure of the building is beyond my control. When living in apartments and townhomes.... you will hear noise. Vehicles playing music, I have been an On-Site Manager since 1992 and music has been and always will be a problem. I wish there was a way I could mute all stereos when entering our Community, but I have yet to figure out how.
Lakefield Mews is a very large wonderful Community. Because I have almost four hundred homes to manage, I have to accept the fact that I will have a few residents that will be unhappy. I manage with an "Open Door" policy and I hope everyone feels comfortable to address their concerns to me.
Lastly, our Resident Criteria for Lakefield Mews does include a National Criminal Background Check on all adults. Your neighbors' application was processed the same way yours was processed. I want you to be happy residing in our Community, not disappointed and frustrated.

iknow maintenance in lakefeild is not slow to respond because i was one of their top guys(chris)and they just about work the life out of their maintenance team,the only downfall was a unorganized office(no names)and now that they have cleaned house,iwould think that things are much smoother.
