Going down a mountain in a wheel barrel! BE ADVISED!!!

At first LOOK, Legacy is a great place to live, updated, spacious, modern, nice lay-out, and good sized bedrooms. The first year I lived here this was true. This is now my second year in and I'm counting down the days until my lease is up. Currently, it seems as if management is making changes to make the apartment complex less appealing on purpose. They just CAN NOT leave well enough alone!

I live in a second floor apartment, which when remodeled became hardwood floors (sounds like a genius' plan huh'), therefore upon resigning my lease I was told I was responsible for placing rugs on 80% of the hardwood floors. First of all, what exactly is 80%' All of it, pretty much! Second of all, this is an extra expense that should not be put on tenants for the idiotic mistake made by LEGACY! If you do choose to live here though, make sure you pick the second floor because as rumor has it every move can be heard below. Hark! Enjoy the gentle sounds of every footstep heard above your head.

Next, the parking situation is a far cry from adequate. This policy was enforced in the middle of my lease and stated if I did not adhere I would be in lease violation. "As I recall, this policy was not in the lease I signed!" I live in a two bedroom apartment with a roommate and we have one spot. Luckily we made a deal to switch every week, but when it's not my week; I make a mad dash to get home before 6:00p.m. to snag a visitor spot. So, obviously, there's no need to say that there isn't a place for VISITORS to park. This policy was set in place because of another mistake made by LEGACY that the tenants now have to pay for! They built garages on every street that are an additional $90 a month. IT'S a trap! If you want a space you would HAVE TO buy one if you have more than one resident in an apartment, which is very likely considering the apartments go up to 3 bedrooms. Also, you have to tag your car with a LEGACY AT MAYLAND DECAL so everywhere you go, everyone knows where you live. Sounds like a safety issue to me!

The remodel is nice to look at, however the logistics don't quite work out. If your neighbors aren't considerate the walls can seem paper thin, my overhead closet rack has fallen more times than I can count (nothing like coming home to a floor full of clothes), you can see the dried paint drips if you look carefully at the walls from the careless paint job, the air vents blast heat/ac into the bedrooms and nearly nothing in the living area, the bathrooms have no vents (more like steamrooms), the entry doors only have a top lock and are the same quality as the door to the bedrooms. Hope nobody wants to get in because it won t be hard. They recently "remodeled" the exercise room and now the layout makes no sense. SO WEIRD!

Now, the biggest problem of all! It would seem that you would be extraordinarily kind to the individuals paying your salary, however the management team at Legacy obviously don't hold this value. DON'T BE FOOLED. When you come to view apartments the fa ade is on, but sign a lease and it's like your nothing but a monthly check. They are rude on the phone, rude in their letters, and even rude to your face, but I think it s because every question you have they don t have an answer to. It makes me extremely angry to have to pay a good amount of money to people who treat you soooo poorly. BEING POLITE TO THE "MONEY" SHOULD BE THE EASIEST THING TO DO, BUT THEY CAN'T EVEN PULL THAT OFF.

But other than that (LOL!), they're great. If you're into paying for other peoples mistakes, enjoy Legacy at Mayland. The most beautiful "exteriors" you can find (in more ways than one).
