I AM MOVING. SAFETY IS A HUGE CONCERN BECAUSE THE VA SEX OFFENDER WEBSITE SHOWS TWO LARGE MEN WHO LIVE TOGETHER ON THIS PROPERTY HAVE BEEN CONVICTED OF NUMEROUS VIOLENT SEX CRIMES. AND THE CONVICTIONS ARE VERY RECENT YRS.

I just looked online and looked up the zip code and see no registered sex offenders that are registered living on the property. They run a criminal check on everyone that lives here I believe.

I live here and I actually love this property. The look of the place, the management is great. And they do run criminal checks here. Don't know what this person is talking about.

The only street even close to one within the community is Queensland which is in a townhome community that sells home and is not in Legacy at all. I have checked over and over again. Check by zip code. I have lived here for years and this is not true.

I checked it, too, and there are two registered sex offenders within a one-mile radius, yes, but they do not live at this complex. The Legacy at Mayland cannot control who other complexes rent to... they CAN control the parking, but that's another issue...........

I live here and just checked the registry as well. This is unfortunately accurate. I have small children. This scares the hell out of me. Why wasn't I notified, and is this grounds to break my lease?

I am in the same boat!! My husband and I have 2 small children and the neighbors downstairs are hideous. They finally stopped banging on the ceiling because we had an enormous argument (mostly the female occupant cursing to the top of her lungs and threatening me, might I add in front of a leasing agent for the property and several other people---the lease states that if any resident threatens violence against another resident, they are to be evicted---the management conveniently disregarded that fact and refused to let us out of our lease as well. We moved here from another state in June and the ONLY reasons we chose this complex are hardwood floors(I and my children have allergies and carpet is hideous for them--which is stupid now because we had to go out and spend hundred's of dollars to cover 80% of the wood floors...and #2 this neighborhood was supposed to be CHILD FRIENDLY!!!!I don't take them to the pool anymore because both of their swimsuits bleached out to almost white after one trip to the pool(are they using Clorox in there or what????), the only playground suitable for small children is forever away from our place so to go to it leads us to another problem---NO PARKING!!!!! and last but not least, the grounds around our building have such horribly kept lawn that I don't want my children playing in ants and dog urine--no offense to the dogs, I love 'em--if we had better landscaping the grass would be a good enough buffer for me. We have pretty much looked at every angle to get the hell out of our lease and I guess they have that problem alot because it is not the standard complex lease agreement that most properties use. OUr downstairs neighbors keep complaining, they don't have children either---YET--she is pregnant, which makes it even funnier that she was threatening to I quote "beat my a#%! if I didn't make my children be quiet" but since all I ever see her do is smoke cigarettes, suck down Mcdonald's and do God knows what else to her unborn child-she'll probably just stick the poor little thing in a dog crate when they're born.....
