Yes the apartments are cool looking. Yes the idea of all utilities included is appealing. But BEWARE! I lived there for a year. First, the washer/dryer combination units in the apartments are TOO small to fit anything in them. Plus, their cycles take 4 hours to complete (I'm not joking). To do laundry, you'll need to plan hours in advance. The neighborhood is safe in the day time, but on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights watch out! I've been followed...checked out by cars of gangsters driving down Main Street...I had to call 911 twice due to a fight that broke out outside my apartment between two drunk guys. Parking stinks - after several months there, they took away the convenient spaces in the lot and made you pay for them if you wanted one. There is a free lot on the other side of the building, but it's right next to Have A Nice Day Cafe - not such a good place to walk through on weekend nights. The office staff is miserable. My boyfriend ordered LIVE whole Maine lobsters as a surprise for me for my birthday and even though the box was labeled with perishable ALL OVER IT (and he asked them to call him when it arrived to the office, but they didn't)...they let it sit in there all weekend and we couldn't access it. $250 wasted - we had to throw them away. My Internet periodically would shut down (sometimes for days on end). One time I found dog poop in the stairwell, but it was usually full of dust, dirt, scum, and trash anyway. YUCK! Oh, and in the summer the canal smells of stagnant water and the stench wafts over the flood wall to your nose.
