When I reserved an apartment I was told how everything would be cleaned and my free parking pass would be waiting when I came to sign the lease. Came in after my first day on a new job to get the lease signed and pick up keys and was tol oops, they forgot to clean it. And the free parking promised' They said they ran out ... only when I said I wasn't going to sign did they suddenly find a free space. Since I moved in I've been asking to have a repair made. Gave three written notices, starting December 2005. Management didn't submit a maintenance order until Nov. 2005. Management also forgets to tell you when you have packages waiting. But sometimes, they'll leave a package in your apartment - enter with the master key without proper notification or your permission. Seems to be a habit, as I've been coming out of the shower to have management walking in for various reasons - no notice, not even a phone call. Internet goes down spontaneously, and the office is increibly rude about that issue, per their baseline. Like your quiet' Get ready for construction noise all day long, and the blasting music from local clubs until late night. I'm a city paramedic, and run calls in this area frequently, mostly related to assaults.
Oh, and then there's the time that the management sent letter about painting that would be going on. Forgot to mention that there would be power washing beforehand - woke up to men yelling literally outside of my door, came home to a flooded first floor from the poor seals on the door. (And don't forget this is a flood zone if you're thinking of a first floor) Nice apartment on the inside, but definitely not worth the high rent.
