There is something to be said about an apartment that has the ability of making you dread going home from work. YES, everything is wonderful when you first move in. The first week or so are great, but once you are in your lease, you are no longer a concern of the staff. The website claims many things that pull you in: Oversized closets (I don't even have a closet); TV Surveillance of Guests (haha. . . JOKE); Washer and Dryer in every unit (should read Washer/Dryer Combo, fits up to Three towels and you will probably have less wrinkles if you tie in a ball to dry. Plus, every load of laundry takes between 4-5 hours.); 24 hour maintenance (Only IF the ENTIRE building loses power, forget it if you and another apartment or two lose power. Basically, everything goes wrong and no one EVER comes to fix it, no one even answers the phone in the office, or returns calls. Not joking, you can leave 20 messages and no one will EVER call you back. The Staff enters your apartment whenever they want to change air filters or other odd items, which is illegal in the State of Virginia to enter a tenants residence without proper notice. There is a detective who lives by the pool and is on some kind of power trip. . . imagine being in college dorms and having an RA (residential advisor). The "controlled access" are doors that were broken for months, and wire gates you can pull open from the outside and kick open from the inside. They do not care about their tenants at Lofts at Canal Walk,. . . they simply know their apartments will continue to fill up due to the location. Once you are in, you're stuck and there isn't anything you can do when no one returns your phone calls or answers complaints.

DO NOT MOVE HERE. Tell all your friends. . . even tell your enemies. It is THAT bad. Once you look around more, you will be thankful you didn't come here. . . there are much better places. . for much less. . . where management and staff care about their tenants.
