Lofts at Canal Walk

I honestly don't know what everyone's problem is. From: reaching10ft Date posted: 6/17/2008 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2008   Every apartment complex does have its problems and this one is no different. But, I have lived here for 3 years and have no serious issues. Contrary to these obviously bitter reviewers' beliefs, they actually did change management a year or so ago, and there have been noticeable changes to the good since then. All of the common areas are frequently updated and landscaping is well-kept. The apartments are very nice for the price - if you are expecting a huge washer and dryer or a walk-in closet then you should actually look at the apartment before signing the lease instead of complaining about it later (there are more washers and dryers on site, by the way). The maintenance staff DOES respond very quickly to any issues - yes the office will often miss calls, but they will respond to a maintenance issue if you leave a voicemail and usually send someone the same day. Oh, and there is ample free parking downtown. Now for the problems: Yes, the neighborhood is noisy and there are occasional shady characters nearby - but if you choose to live in a gentrifying area within a stone's throw to the most popular club districy in town, you should expect that. Next, although the maintenance people are very prompt, they have not fixed a problem correctly before. I had a garbage disposal fail, and when they replaced it, they forgot to release the valve to allow water from the dishwasher to drain, so my dishwasher leaked everywhere. My suggestion would be to check any fixes that they have done. I have never had any other major appliance failure. I have never had any pests (there is pest control service every few months). My apartment has never been entered without warning - the management puts notices on the doors of apartments that they need to enter in advance. All in all, my opinion is that most of these reviers are bitter. Overall, I am very satisfied.
