HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT, BUILDING AND COMMUNITY!

So as I write this at 1am in the morning is due the nosiness of the tenants. I had to contact good olde Henrico Police recently to straighten out the noise disobedience. The tenants which I have continuously complained to management staff for a week, have done nothing. I haven't been able to sleep but every other night due the noise. Not to mention the tenant dog is constantly barking. The dog breed is wellround and supposed to be a family dog, but the dog shows its teeth ready to attack. The tenants already have animal cruelty charges on them.
But here is the funny thing, I complain about the noise then get a notice on my door saying."we have received a complaint of your apartment of loud music/tv at night." When I go to bed at 10pm, how can i make noise at late hours when I am in bed' And why would i complain on myself' Maybe my snoring'' Haha. The notices are more or less "nasty-grams" they don't throughly check out the situation just blame others. They have TRIED to bill my apartment for trash on my balcony when i don't even have a balcony. The teants in the building are like peeping toms, always trying to insitgate crap. Management targets young and the elderly tenants. Also if you are racial there is a numerous amount of middle eastern groups here who live like 100 to one 2bedroom apartment.
The building has no lighting rod on it, so beware when you see a drop of rain pull everything. Its ashame i have to live in fear. Our building had been struck with lighting, due to no lighting rod to my apartment. I lost over $1000 worth of equipment. The girl next to me lost other equipment too. And when you go to complain to management they sound like a robot, "that is not the management fault", well newsflash it is. The building contractor should be notified and realize no lighting rod is placed on this building. The lighting hit so hard it burnt a black hole through my stereo. Now that's dangerous.
Parking, there is no assigned parking as well, as management says "there is plenty of parking" yeah a 2 roads down! When you live on 3rd story carrying up groceries you want to be close, not 2 roads down! And one truck remains abandon in front of the building as an eyesore. Several people have complained to management to move it so we'll have more parking..but once again. Management does nothing but twittle their thumbs.
Management team fails to recognize our complaint, they give you notices that have nothing to do with you, and takes no fault or apology's for their building fault. The walls are paper thin made with cheap paint you touch the walls your hand print is on it. Maintenance when they come and if they come look at you like you have three heads. If you a young lady beware, don't be home alone when maintenance comes. They can also enter your apartment when ever they want, I caught one one morning as I came out of the shower as he was fixing my fire alarms. It was scary. Several people have felt threaten including me. There is so much breaking into these places also. It is over priced and should be at section 9 housing at this point. You can also check the Henrico County's [ICR's]= incident crime reports. Spring oak drive,Kilburn circle, Sommersworth lane, and barringer lane are all the names of the 560 units road, check for your self. You can see for your self the number of police incidents here, especially for larceny. Thats seems to be the usual. I've been here for 9 months, and when my lease is over if i make it..I am leaving this place. For the price you pay here, you could own a house and not have to deal with exaggerated tenants at 1am.
And for these recent comments about certain management staff don't flatter yourself hun, your not all that.

Well when the building was struck by lightning and you lost your "equipment", did you or the other person have a little thing called RENTER'S INSURANCE? Duh. That covers all of your personal belongings. The management is right when they say that they are not responsible.

I am not sure, what building your part of this 1000 community, but our building got hit with lighting and we lost our cable box and microwave. Although the cable was covered by comcast and the microwave was nothing, renters insurance sometimes doesn't cover it, due to the deductible is sometimes $500 . Its not managements fault, but Simpson properties are who you should talk to. As for the crime, I believe it. I moved here 1year ago and the crime is horrific, my car alarm seems to go off every-night, and to get a garage is another $200 a month. Maintenance has improved since I've been here, I think they added more staff. But there where times, where it seem maintenance was entering at their own choice. As for the noise, I have pretty peaceful neighbors, but I do hear the construction noise from the new buildings and you hear the drift of noise from the construction on I64 at night.

Hi, I read your story and I am going through the same situation, but in "the reflections at west creek" apartments. The tenant above my apartment, the kind of noise he makes is unbelievable, at 2 am, 3 am,etc...and I am tired of complaining and these people in the leasing office don't care. Actually the lack of sleep is affecting my daily performance. I want to leave but they basically intimidated me that I have to pay a penalty fee for breaking the lease. I can't believe tenants are not protected by any law, specially with the amount of money we are paying for these rents. There must be a law that protects us in this kind of situation.

Hey anonymous who replied on 11/16/07 um no renters insurance does NOT always cover everything. Duh! Jerk. I am so glad this place exists because I can see what people are going through and know which apartments to avoid when I relocate. Too bad management doesn't seem to get the idea that some of us are reading these and taking into account the things we are reading.
