Apartment maintenance would be better handled by the Three Stooges and most of the neighbors would be excellent candidates for the Jerry Springer Show - or rehab or prison. The inside is perpetually buggy and the outside is perpetually trashy. The walls are thin and you can too often hear the most embarrassing sounds of your next-door neighbors, not to mention traffic and stereo noise on the street. There's an unusual number of Peeping Toms here, so bring heavy drapes if you like privacy.

On the positive side, it's a great place to hide out, to escape from the pressures of normal society, and it's quite pet-friendly.
