Make no mistake, this is not a safe area. I would call it dangerous. Gunshots blasting through the night and cop cars chasing after them are an unavoidable feature of Manchester Lakes. If you are a single female I would highly recommend steering clear of this place. The dishwasher is absolutely lousy. The walls are terribly thin, noise is a problem. I had multiple issues with heating in the winter, then air conditioning in the summer. It was a huge pain to keep calling maintenance who did the best they could, but obviously not good enough if they had to keep coming back to fix what the other maintenance person skimped on. Insulation is not good, you will pay a ton for heating and AC for a small apartment. I never went to the laundry facilities because there is an excellent laundromat within walking distance off Hull St. As I mentioned, I did not feel safe. My next door neighbor was robbed three times. I guess she had some pretty expensive stuff in her place but I doubt it. People don't move to Manchester Lakes for the scenery and security, that's for sure. They move there because it's cheap compared to the alternatives. I don't doubt there was drug activity going on across the parking lot. The landscaping is atrocious. It looks like garbage and you'll find plenty of it outside the apartments. I located broken glass outside my apartment and others and continued to find it until the day I moved. That tells you how little groundskeeping is done. If you have children, this is not a good place for them to learn and explore as children need.
