I moved to Overlook in Aug '07 without actually seeing inside the apartment.I was impressed that the ground did actually look like the internet pictures.I wanted to get myself and my daughter out of the busy city and the crime and better schools. Well she got a better school and we got a much better apartment.I would have never got a 3/bdrm 2/bath in Bklyn for the same rent.Well the place is great but the ghetto mentality of the parents and children there sucks.Now the staff in the office changes every 2/3 months some have nasty attitudes but fortunatly I haven't encountered it.My problem is the girls/boys who have a basically racist attitude and constantly talk loud,behind your back and on bebo website to start fights but when it's face to face they punk up.I say racist because it seems they dislike my daughter and most people from NY just because we aren't from VA,light skinned,long hair,straight hair,speak proper english,dress better and get more attention from boy's.Now I don't condone fighting but I do understand kids but when I approach the parents to discuss the matter I see the apple don't fall far from the tree.It's not about looks,clothes or attention from boys which any new girl in the neighborhoods gonna get just for being new but these little girls are just haters and the constant agitation on a daily I'd be ready to fight and I myself are sick of them because they just won't focus on themselves.Then the police get involved and charge both parties when there can only be one aggressor.I am very disappointed in the "ghetto" mentality of the neighborhood.Thirteen year old girls from the projects with their babies(yes I was shocked) sitting in the breezeway 11:30 at night in the summer.Loud people coming with no respect for neighbors.Thin walls(you WILL hear your neighbor doing laundry!)The place is somewhat livable if you don't have (attractive) children of middle to high school age but I should have looked into a private home or a complex that doesn't accept section 8 recipients.My repairs (minor)have been done in a timely fashion.They do too many inspections.I have had one in November and now another in March.

HONEY I'M FROM VA AND I WILL TELL YOU ITS NOT JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE FROM NY THEY ARE JUST HATERS PERIOD. I HAVE DEALT WITH THAT ALL MY LIFE. AND THE REASON THEY HAVE ALL THOSE INSPECTIONS IS BECAUSE OF THE SECTION 8 RESIDENTS. ITS A SHAME THAT THEY CAN'T ACT CIVILIZED. SOMEONE GIVES THEM A CHANCE AT A DECENT LIVING AND THEY STILL ACT LIKE ITS THE PROJECTS. SOMEONE SHOULD REPORT THEY A** SO THEY HAVE TO GO RIGHT BACK TO WHERE THEY CAME FROM! NOT ALL SECTION 8 RESIDENTS ARE LIKE THAT BUT MOST ARE . THEY NEED TO MAKE THEM GO RIGHT BACK WHERE THEY CAME FROM IF THEY CAN'T CONTROL THEIR CHIDREN OR ARE DISTRUBING OTHER RESIDENTS. I HATE WHEN I COME IN PEOPLE ARE HANGING ALL OVER THE PLACE EXCEPT IN THEIR HOUSE. THIS IS NOT THE PROJECTS WE HAVE CENTRAL HEAT/AIR . WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF BEING IN THE BREEZEWAYS ACTING STUPID ALL NIGHT!. GIRL I FEEL WHAT YOU SAYING AND UNDERSTAND BELIEVE ME.

Overlooked!!!! I don't know why the problems at at Overlook are never resolved by management and they probably never will be resolved. However, why is it that people like you feel that your problem with the kids in are community and reasons for inspections are based on Section 8 residence. I'm on section 8 and have been for over 10 years. I work everyday, 13 hours a day. My kids are never at home due to after school activities and youth ministry. The reason for random inspections are based on complaints called and by letter to the rental office by your neighbors. I call in all everyone who looks like trouble. I have a drug dealer as a neighbor, house stays busy 24/ 7 thats right I call the police on all you drug smuggling crack heads. Its the people who pay rent who are causing problems and if you are on Section 8 causing trouble in our community you should loose your right to have a section 8 voucher when there are people out there who really need it.
