I moved in July 2006, and my roomate and I have the smallest 2 bedroom apartment. It is indeed very small (around 850 sq ft), but it is brand new, with brand new appliances, etc, and beautiful arches in the doorways. The kitchen has plenty of cabinet space and a small pantry, and we have a WONDERFUL washer and dryer in-unit. Everyone that works in the office is extremely nice, as well as security, who you can call if you lock yourself out (they're very friendly about it). It has an office, kitchen, outdoor patio/grill, theater...
There is parking available to anyone who wants it. Parking is $65/month and no utilities are included which make this place extremely pricey. Our rent went up $15/month this year but I anticipate it will skyrocket next year with the completion of the new VCU business building and engineering building. I don't think it's noisy at all, other than the sirens you can hear from Belvidere occasionally. My only complaint is that our fire alarm has gone off three times in the past year (always in the middle of the night) and it takes 30 - 45 minutes for the fire dept. to come and turn it off. Other than that, it's a great place to live and maintenace is EXTREMELY fast, and housekeeping personnel are the nicest I've ever met. The halls do often smell weird like another review said though...it smells like foreign foods though, not trash or anything.
Only cats are allowed as pets and it is a $500 security deposit, plus a monthly fee, and you can only get $250 of the deposit back. That is another big drawback.
