So glad I decided to live here!

When I was researching apartment complexes in Richmond, I had a hard time finding information on the internet that wasn't negative. I had a horrible experience with my first landlord, and I wasted a lot of time trying to deal with the many problems that we had with our last place. As a consequence, I really wanted to be sure that I could find a place to live where the management was reliable and trustworthy. Pohlig Box Factory was a stand-out in the amount of positive feedback it had online, especially compared to the other options in the area, but it made me a little apprehensive. Why did Pohlig seem like it stood head and shoulders above its competition' I was afraid that it looked too-good-to-be-true. However, I've lived here for a few months now, and I have been really happy with my experience. Holly lives up to her reputation as a building manager who is honest and reliable. There's a reason that her name pops up in so many positive reviews.
Of course, no place is perfect, and there are some minor things that I would change if I had control over everything in the universe. The major thing for me is that parking can be a nuisance in the evening. Before 5, there are spots everywhere, but once people start coming back from work, it can be hard to find a spot nearby. I am a student, so if I'm coming back from a late night studying, it is frustrating to park a block away just because some people left half a car length of space around their car when they were parallel parking. On the other hand, the furthest I've had to park has been at the end of the block, so really, it's only a minor annoyance. Also, with every apartment complex, comes the issue of noise. It's not so bad for me because my neighbors are pretty quiet, but I can hear things like the elevator, people using the stairs, and the upstairs neighbor dropping something heavy (handweight') on the ground. However it's never been a real problem for me, and the one time I did have a problem with noise, Holly was quick to respond to it. The last thing I wish I could change about Pohlig is their pet policy. You are only allowed to have cats as pets at Pohlig. No dogs are allowed. I understand why this policy is in place since some people don't know how to discipline their dogs, and they can end up causing a lot of damage. I wish I had the option of getting a dog, but I knew this requirement before I moved in, and I agreed to abide by the rules. For now I will just have to be patient and google images of pugs while I am living at Pohlig.
