I just moved out of president's walk apartment recently. One main reason why I did not resign a lease with them was the bugs...Roaches and Centipedes and Spiders. They were everywhere! I hate bugs!
The apartment, itself, was huge with washer and dyer. The price was good for the size of the apartment. The front staff/management team was awesome.
We did have mold on the walls, which caused my roommate to devolpe a rash and I devolved a persistent cough. I notified the management team and they, I guess, got it taken care of in a single day. I still had a cough though, and once I moved out it went away.
The pet fee is crazy, $350 Non-Refund. Speaking of fees: If you are charged any late fees, they will not let you know about it and then charge you another late fee on the old one. Apparently they did this too me twice.
The fixer-upper guys rock, nice and helpful! They really went out of their way several times for me.
It is close to VCU, which is a bonus, however, it is not as close as a student would like. At nighttime, you should not walk to and from school because it is a little too sketchy. My roommate drove to school everyday; I only drove to my night classes. Another problem with being so close to VCU, is that some of the neighbors are really loud (Music, parting, talking on cell phones in the hallway..etc...)
I was told that there would be free parking however my apartment biluding. did not have parking, so I had to use street parking which is a nightmare most of the time.
There is so much more I could tell you about.
Bottom Line: I would have re-signed the lease if there were no bugs, everything else (including the mold) I could live with.
