The apartments themselves are lovely once you actually get inside of one and close the door behind you; for the first week or two they seem worth the price. The neighbors are great (the whole floor!) and have always lended a helping hand. Everything else, however, is questionable.

Roaches are starting to take over the living room because they're coming in from the HALLWAY. Apparently our neighbors are having the same problem because management TOLD me that other people have been complaining about the issue. If they are aware of it, why has it taken more than a month to send an exterminator' Why would she even tell me that other people have complained' Not exactly the brightest thing to say to a resident. The elevator is constantly broken, homeless people roam around the parking lot for various reasons, and parking is truely a problem on the weekends when people who don't live here decide to park ALL WEEKEND LONG. Management has mentioned that they are well aware of the parking problem too, however, I have not seen them do anything to correct it and it seems to get worse everyday. I've even witnessed the manager herself take up two parking spots in the designated parking area so....there's the answer to that issue. She says she's aware, yet nothing gets done.

The biggest problem IS the manager--the slew of employees hired from temp agencies just to fill in made that evident, and after speaking to other residents it's clear that I'm not the only person who feels like this. She is very unprofessional, which is disturbing considering I pay to keep her employed. Even when I was searching for an apartment she was rude over the phone, like she didn't have time to talk. Apparently she didn't because I came by during posted hours on 3 separate occasions and nobody was ever in the office. AND I waited, because this is a very convenient location. It got to the point where I tried to stop dropping by and called before I showed up, even though they don't take appointments. Sometimes the line would take me to Capitol Garage Apartments and surprise surprise, they had no idea where she was either.

Maybe if she would have shown the same attitude when the lease was being signed I would have thought twice, but of course everyone is cheery when money is exchanged. To put it nicely, her attitude is jacked up. Perhaps she doesn't like her job or has personal issues within herself or a combo of both; whatever the case, she's a poor communicator. It seems that her stance on her job duties is "if you have a problem, it's not MY fault." Maintenance reports go unanswered, even though she swears she sends people out. When the same item remains broken either they haven't done their job or she hasn't done hers. I've called five times (yes, FIVE times) to ask simply where to park--3 random people told me "I don't know" and the manager herself gave conflicting information twice, the second time swearing that she didn't say what she said the first. And don't let her tell you that they don't ticket or tow, because they do and they will, and I've watched Peaco Towing make plenty of money. (I talked to one of the tow truck drivers and he's pretty cool, even HE knows that the manager doesn't know which spots belong to Presiden't Walk and which ones belong to him and the police station).

I really can sit here all day complaining about how the manager alone has messed up what is otherwise a satisfactory experience. If you can deal with poor management and the lack of caring about the condition of your apartment, and if you don't get frustrated when there's nowhere to park even though you paid for it, then this might be a good match for you.
