My husband and I lived here for 6 months in 2004 and I cried almost every day until we moved out. We were moving from out of state and didn't have the money to fly to Richmond and check out the apartment beforehand. We made the mistake of assuming the 3 bedroom townhouse we would be moving into would look somewhat like the pictures online...boy were we WRONG!! We showed up at the apartment office with our Penske truck full of belongings so we didn't have much choice but to move in and immediately look for another place to live. Following are reasons why I would NEVER recommend anyone live in these apartments.

)The day we moved in, someone was getting arrested in the building nextdoor. That should have been our first clue.

)The online floorplans don't show that you have to put your washing machine in the kitchen right next to the stove and the dryer in the plywood shanty off the patio that they call the utility room.

)The kitchen was disgusting. The cabinets were covered with greasy, grimey goo that would not come off no matter how much I scrubbed them.

)They moved us into an apartment and the unit next door had been completely gutted by fire.

)Stray cats would go in and out of the burned apartment and pee and poop all over and pee on our patio door.

)Whenever it rained, water flooded our living room. The first time it happened, they had carpet cleaners come to our apartment and clean up the mess. Every time it happened after that (at least 6 more times in the 6 months we lived there) the maintenance men would come and just suck up the water with a shopvac and tear pieces of the carpet padding out leaving uneven spots in our living room.

)The lock on our front door was really old and rusty and once we were trying to leave at about 8am and our key broke off in the lock. It was the 4th of July and we had to call the on-call "emergency" maintenance. First, the guy told us to call a locksmith. When we refused, he said he wouldn't come fix it because it was a holiday. I told him there was no way I would be able to leave for work the next day because I couldn't lock my door so he needed to come fix it. He said he would come, but 2 hours later still had not left. I called him 3 more times but to no avail. My husband finally had to call him and he came at 5pm and begrudgingly changed the lock.

)There was a Mercedes Benz with real bullet holes in it that parked in our parking lot.

)Our neighbors played mariachi music extremely loudly every Saturday morning at 7:30am.

)Our bikes were stolen off our patio.

)One Sunday morning, while leaving for church, we had to go through a police roadblock to get out of the apartment community. I guess 2 people tried to pull off an armed robbery the previous night at around 10 and the police tracked them back to their apartment (in our apartment complex). Shots were fired and there was a stand-off until noon on Sunday.

)I went to the Food Lion just down the road to pick up some groceries and notice about 7 or so men walking around suspiciously (not buying anything or even looking around). They were staking out the store. There was a police officer in uniform getting groceries and I made it a point to get out of the store before the police officer left. About 20 minutes after I left they robbed the store. I know this has nothing to do with the apartments themselves, but it gives you an idea of the neighborhood you will be moving into if decide to move here.

I can't remember the food lion one to much... but man is it true... and God help us after the domestic shooting on Sep 10th RIP ms Tara... it is horrible what has happened threw the years... 90s was the greatest, it is sad how this place is like revalations or 'Final destination' like their little 'hollywood' theme of this place goes... more like Hotel California ... you can check in but you can't check out...

The only way your going to get them to fix anything in your apartment is by calling "Chesterfield County Building inspectors office at 804-748-1779 . Try it an those maintenance half ass fixing guys will come running. They will accomodate you in every which way. If your A/C is not working call channel 12 on your side . There use to coming to Regency Lake . Calling the corporate office means nothing , the owner doesn't give a ---- but to collect there rent. There office staff needs more training because there asses have customer serrvice skills what so everr. Everytime they get someone in there office that have some sense they leave, I guess they wanted to get out of hells fury.......... They call themselves doing a REHAB...... You guys should be in jail for stealing the banks money.... The half fixed the exterior and didn't sdo ---- to the inside . They also have Pit Bulls walking arounding the property without a lesh "Dont they know that Chesterfield County has a leash law.
