Seven Gables Apartments

WORST PLACE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From: smharris728 Date posted: 10/13/2006 Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2002   I moved into Seven Gables right out of college and that was probably the worst decision I've ever made. I took me weeks to get maintainence to come in and fix the phone jacks within the apartment and I still couldn't use the one in the living room because it would disable the rest of the unit. The neighbors underneath of me were trifiling and inconsiderate. I come home from work after midnight and can hear the music from his unit blasting and I'm still in my car. God forbid I'm in my apartment his music would be sooo loud I could sing along to the music because I could understand the lyrics. Additionally I would walk into the building to be greeted by the smell of marijuana floating from his apartment. I called the rental office and complained numerous times and they did absolutely NOTHING. He was even ignorant enough to start blasting music at 7 AM! Safety...HA what a joke....one day while conversing on the phone with a friend in Chicago I opened my door to find Henrico Police standing there stated a delivery person was just robbed in our hallway and the delivery address given was mine and spent the next hour trying to convince them not only did I not hear anything in the hall but I never even placed an order. Needless to say I didn't feel safe. When I requested to move to a new unit when it was time for my renewal I was told I had to reapply and pay another deposit. After I left Seven Gables I thought my problems were now over...NO...I followed procedures for moving out. Seven Gables issued me my letter stating that I would receive my deposit back. Two months later I still hadn't received my check. I call the rental office and speak to the person who will remain nameless and she stated there was some issue with the checks that were issued for former residents. For months and months I was given excuses and the run-around eventually Seven Gables stopped responding to my calls altogether. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and Seven Gables still refused to respond. I contacted the owners of the complex (thank God for the internet). Who apparently knew nothing of this situtation! One year after I moved out I finally got my deposit back...to say I absolutely abhor this place would be an understatement!!!!!!!!
