Yo!

One Issue After Another (from the carbon monoxide to roaches)

First of all I love the floor plans here and its really unfortunate that everything else has been so horrible. My roommate and I have lived here since October 2007, bear in mind the things we've dealt with has happened within 5 1/2 months.
Our first problem came in November when our carbon monoxide detectors went off, our apartment was so full of poisonous gas that we were told by the fire department to leave immediately and go to the hospital, we spent 2 hours in the hospital on oxygen that night and couldn't go home. It took 1 week staying at a friends house before the apartment people would take us seriously and fix the problem and that was after I had gone to the corporate office. Not to mention the maintenance people left trash and spare parts lying around our apartment. We had been living in a poisonous environment for 2 weeks and didn't know.
The second problem we had/have is several maintenance issues, our A/C fan in the back ran 24 hours a day in winter running up our electric bill, our A/C doesn't work, the kitchen ceiling leaks whenever the tub is full of water, our cabinet door fell off the wall. Things that should've been taken care of before you put people in an apartment. We also have roaches we have had the apartment sprayed and it didn't work, I had to buy powder and spread it around to take care of it myself. Mind you we are clean people and don't leave food out.
The last issues involve our neighbors, several of them are very nice, however we deal with loud music 6 days out of the week and complaining does not help. There are also police officers around almost everyday this would be comforting if they weren't here for crimes committed. I will not go out at night for long periods of time being that you can hear gunshots nearly every night.
All in all we will being moving as soon as our lease is up, I only wish to warn people to find a better place. I love my apartments set up but its just not worth the constant problems and fear of a break in. I would recommend you save yourself the trouble and the money.
