I was an almost 4 year resident of SJW from mid 2004 to early 2008. Their claim to fame is they were voted Richmond's best community south of the river in 2000 and 2002. Hello people it is 2008. My issues were mainly with maintenance from the squirrels in the attic to the forever running A/C that did not work to the water that leaked from the A/C unit that ran under the carpet and stained it. My service calls ALWAYS took 2 to 3 calls before anyone showed up and many times they showed up without leaving notices that they were even in my apartment. I would not recommend this complex to anyone although they did let me out of my lease without penalty, but it should not have come to that.

I continue to be amazed at the problems that this, one-time, beautiful complex continues to have. I have, however, found a great site to help people find other locations if you are trying to leave SJW or any other apartment complex. It even lets you search the local MLS system if you are interested in buying a home.
