i had the misfortune of living here.... safety is a MAJOR concern. gun shots, gang partys at the swimming pool, fights, my car was vandalized twice, etc. the office staff could care less. After reporting to the office several times, i was told to 'call the police'. the apt. i had was a 1 bedroom, only about 400sq. ft., 800.00/month. 20 year old appliances, the carpet in my apt. was more than 10yrs. old, told it would be replaced before i moved in, NOT DONE. I compained that my hot water heater, only lasted about 4-5minutes, supposedly fixed 3times..... NEVER fixed. if you like to keep your apt. cool in the summer, forget it. Everything very outdated. A small child even died in the pool last summer, during the day, with the 'office staff' right there.... STAY AWAY. for the money you could get into any of the NEWER apts, just around the corner.Actually that is what i did when i broke my lease, and moved into the neighboring complex, WHAT A DIFFERENCE. when i contacted the local police, i was told that because of the terrible lighting, there were tons of "peeping toms"...go to the Henrico police site, and you can look up the complex, and it lists all police reports, you will be shocked. and once again the office staff, especially the mgr. named -----, will do nothing, you can do much better in the area, just look. they try to suck you in with a move in special, and then after that expires they jack up the rent 200.00 bucks...
i honestly dont know how they get away with it... check out Copper MIll, or copper spring, right next door. i moved to the area without knowing any better, please dont make the same mistake.

I do not agree with this review. I have lived here for 2 years, never had a problem. What concerns me is the person writing this does not have a clue of whats going on. In regards to the small child, it was after office hours and a medical condition. I should know because I was there. The one bedrooms are very spacious thats what I live in now. I think this person was just upset and made up lies. I will continue to lease at Sundance and hope no one is turned away by this review.

i have lived here for 3 1/2 yrs and ----- and the entire office staff have always been courteous and helpful. the maintenance staff has always fixed everything promptly, even when my ac needed to be fixed after hours they responded immediately and got it fixed right. i have a one bedroom and it is almost double the "400 sq ft" this person has spoken of. the parking lot and buidlings are always well lit and if a light ever goes out it is fixed the next day. you can go to the henrico site and see any apartment complex listed on there with calls they had to respond to. when you have a large number of people living throughout a complex this is not unusual. but i have never heard a gunshot and i feel very safe living here by myself as a female. furthermore for someone to bring up the tragic death of a child to add to his rant only shows you the lack of respect that person has for common courtesy to that childs family. they even had it on the news that the death was due to a medical condition and it was after office hours so no one was even there in the office. they were very upset as was the whole community when this happened. this person obviously left this apartment community on bad terms possibly due to a broken lease or his inability to pay his rent. i would recommend living here to anyone who is looking for a safe, quiet west end apartment.

For that individual to use the unfortunate death of a child to express his dislike for an apt community is reprehensible. It shows a complete lack of respect or compassion for the child or his family. The child had a medical condition, which has nothing to do with the management. maybe this individual needs to move out in the mountains, where he can be alone and not have to deal with anything.I have yet to see any gang fights or shootings there either.I hope he can sleep at night knowing that he is a very insensitive, uninformed individual. Not really what i wanna call him but ill stay professional and not stoop to his level.

I think it is horrible to use the tragic death of a small boy that died from a medical condition just to try to make this complex look bad. Shame on you!
