Do not believe the positive reviews on here. They are all written by the management to help them fill apartments, which from as far as I can tell is not working too well.

The craftsmanship on the building is the worst I have ever seen. The walls are poorly painted and paper thin. You can hear every word your neighbor says. If they have their stereo turned down low you will still be able to hear it crystal-clear. There is no insulation from sound or weather. If you have windows they will suck all the warm air out and let the cold in. Vice-versa in the Summer. If you don't have windows, i hope you don't have seasonal depression because it is equivalent to living in a dark cave.

If something goes wrong with your apartment, it will usually be weeks before they fix it. The front door has been broken for three days now. No attempt to fix it.

People on this site talk about how the tenants are the problem, that is not the case. Sure some people don't clean up after their pets, but that is because their is no pride of ownership here. The residents are just riding out their leases until they can find somewhere better. The "pet-friendly" building charges 200 dollars NON-REFUNDABLE pet "deposit" PER-PET! Plus 35 dollar pet rent per pet. Like pets have jobs. There is no where to walk your dog with any grass, exept other people's property. The management does nothing but pocket the money, there are no petwaste receptacles like in most other apartments that charge exuberant pet fees.

Bottom line don't move here!

I will be upstairs on the second floor balcony smoking, just because I can.

Wow... those of you reading this- take a good looooong look at this post. Here's a guy (girl?) writing line after line of a neurotic manifesto. This nut throws around words like "ILLEGAL!" and makes racist comments derogatory to ---------. Yet, NOTHING ever comes from his (her?) shrieking. He (she?) claims to be "on the second floor" and "smoking" (that should tell you just how DUMB they are!) yet, if he (she?) has a problem with management, they're on the first floor. In fact, with all this ILLEGAL conduct (they've been telling us for MONTHS!) why hasn't the police/city/building inspector/anyone shut River City down?!? The answer is simple. A few social misfits and losers with empty threats and complaints don't mean s h i t. And neither does this mental giant. Go back to your cigarette, mister (miss?) - the sooner you choke, the happier we'll all be!

It is a racial classification, such as Asain, or Caucasian you jackass! Apparently if you smoke it is a direct reflection of your intellect? Let's see, the next leader of the free world smokes. I don't think he got to where he is by being DUMB as you say. Are you saying that the losers complaints don't mean s h i t? That is a great way to run a business, ignore the complaints of the people who put food on your table. You sir are a moron, and I hope you acheive your life-goal of throwing yourself off a cliff. 'neurotic manifesto?' Is that all RC mgmt has to say about anything... why don't you spend your time improving this dump and assisting your tenants with maitenance issues, etc... you do that and the place might improve. And you wouldn't have a bunch of pissed tenants telling the world (or at least all of Richmond) what a miserable company RC is and spreading the word to ALL as to the living conditions of your properties. Over the course of the last 8 months I've had the absolute pleasure of talking to a dozen or so 'potential tenants' and based upon my opinion of the place they chose to rent from other, responsible and responsive companies... The word is spreading rapidly as to how RC operates and the poor condition of its properties and mistreatment of its tenants. I figure I have encourage the people I have spoken with to spend about 150,000.00 in rent with companies other than River City...and this number will continue to grow!!!

I know nooooooot to read any review with extended woooooords with lots of oooooooos in them, because it's rather apparent that they're all written by people who woooooork for the management company. Could you people just stop quibbling about what is and isn't illegal and just start acting like competent lessors?

"That is a great way to run a business, ignore the complaints of the people who put food on your table." couldn't have said it better myself. armstrong_hater, it's pretty apparent that RCRE doesn't care what tenants think (which doesn't really make a lot of sense). the only logical conclusions are: 1) they're going bankrupt and plain just don't care 2) somehow are still staying afloat despite the multitude of tenant complaints and backlash 3) have some kind of ties to the property owner/city officials/someone important, such that no matter what they do (or don't do, in this case), it plain won't matter what the tenants say, RCRE will win. all of that being said, as much as all of us dislike RCRE, posting on these message boards isn't really going to get anything done. i think the best thing to do is to spread the word about the poor conditions/customer service at RCRE, and hopefully they will just go out of business.
