I lived there for four years....Previous reviewers points concerning about parking and maintenance are valid. If you work late and/or don't keep "traditional hours" you will find yourself searching for parking close to your building. With some buildings, it is a minor nuisance and occurs infrequently, in other places on the property, it can be a terrible.

I occupied three different apartments during my time at The Timbers and each had it's pros and cons.

Some of the buildings are sigificantly older than others ... Quality of refrigerators, ovens, carpets and flooring in each unit varied too much for my liking.

Resident Manager (towards the end) had been newly promoted and seemed genuinely interested in maintaining a nice community. Workout facility is almost useless...tennis courts and swimming pool seem pretty standard. Trash is a genuine pain-in-the-ass as there is ONE dumpster which is constantly out of order.

If you get what is called a "wing unit" DO NOT let the rental agent tell you that you can utilize both "decks" to your liking. It simply is not true! Your front "deck" must be free of any items other than plants and doormats. On more than one occasion, I was asked to remove various items from the little area in front of my door. Was told that it was a "fire hazard"

The Timbers seems to be undergoing a transformation of sorts as the company appears to be loosening the criteria for admitting potential residents. While I cannot confirm this, it wouldn't surprise me in the least as there appeared to be a younger, more racially diverse clientele towards the end of my stay. Again, I could be wrong, but I recall the residnts being a little older and more established a few years ago.

Location, nestled away in the hills of Bon Air...easy access to Powhite, Carytown, Midlothian, Stony Point and Chesterfield Towne Centre, 2 HCA hospitals, etc...All in all, a pretty good experience overall, but not without it's flaws.
