Although the management is very understanding, the general living conditions kind of stink. The units have no heat or a/c, save for little wall units that are about 30 years old and barely work, if they work at all. They charge you out the nose for water/sewer/trash (about $100/month). Maintenance is rude, every time we've had to have something fixed, he decided I was to blame for it not working in the first place. Couldn't be that these places are OLD and things are falling apart'! Also, we were promised new carpet and when we moved in, it was a very old, brown carpet. Not new in the least.

I hear you. I was ready to move out after the first month. I am a night worker and specifically told the management staff to contact me prior to any routine maintenance calls. I have be awakened several times at noon when I don't go to sleep until 9am. Will be happy when I move.
