These apartments are located in Short Pump which would lead most to think it is a quiet respectable community. Not so. I live on Claxton Road and am EAGERLY waiting my Nov. 30, 2006 move out date. When I moved in a year ago I just knew I'd feel safe and have a quiet residence to come home to. Tuckahoe West does not screen their tenants carefully (or at all for that matter) because I live next to the LOUDEST unsavory people I've ever had the misfortune of living next to. My neighbor fancies himself a musician and constantly plays his music loud. Initially I wanted to give him the courtesy of knocking on his door and asking him if he could please turn the music down. After going to his door on four occasions I had enough and began banging on the wall. At first he'd turn it down but one night he storms to my front door (drunk and smelling like marijuana) loudly stating his music was not too loud. We proceeded to argue. He feels he pays rent so he can play his music anyway he likes I told him it is obviously too loud if I always know when its on. I also told him if I wanted to deal with a living environment such as this I would have moved to the projects/ghetto. He blew up and said, ??we both ni99@s (a derogatory term used by racist towards ------) how you gonna disrespect what I do for a living (in his mind being that we are both -----American I am supposed to find loud music in my home through someone else??s walls acceptable)! Then he proceeded to threaten me (I am six months pregnant at this time) telling me if I knocked on his wall again he'd have to get ignorant. I've reported him several times, the rental office filed my complaint but they said they need to hear the music for themselves. That horrible neighbor drives a commercial work van as well as the one next to him. They both park their overbearing ghastly work vans in addition to their vehicles in the minimal parking spaces making parking a nightmare. One of the commercial work van drivers carpools with a co-worker who parks his truck in the lot all day while they??re at work. Various neighbors have company at all times that park anywhere they please and once again the lot is small and spaces are limited. There are no assigned spaces so there??s little that can be done. The walls are so thin you can also hear every time your neighbor goes up and down there stairs. Half the pet owners do not pick up after their dogs so be careful walking on the grass. Don??t wait till around the deadline to pay your rent, you will get charged a 10% late fee. The hot water in the kitchen sounds like a frieght train unless you turn it way up as far as it can go. Overall it was a mistake moving out here and I would not recommend renting from Tuckahoe West a Wilton Company.
