Cramped and Outdated

So, we moved in here because it was going to be cheaper than our old townhouse and it has a gas range. I was disappointed from the get-go. There are no individual patio areas for residents, at least not in our section of townhomes. There is also NO dishwasher in our unit! And the lighting sucks and the upstairs is soooo hot. No matter what we do there is a 15 degree difference between the upper level and the lower level. The worst of it is that we live next door to a family with rowdy children and a dog. The walls are paper-thin so we hear them going up and down the stairs as though they are in our own apartment. We were also ticked off because we had asked permission before we moved in to put out a Jolly Roger flag on the provided flag pole bracket. Then a month later we were called and asked to remove it because "it didn't appear warm and inviting." Like the constant display of cleaning supplies, children's toys and junk in front of our neighbors' apartments is warm and inviting.

We had the option of renting a full size washer and dryer, which we took and looked forward to having as opposed to the stackable units we had elsewhere. Well...the doors on the laundry/pantry area suck because you only have access to one side at a time and the lid on the washing machine keeps falling down since it cannot open all the way.

I have a thing for locks on the doors, too. There is only one actual lock on the front and back doors...no sliding lock or deadbolt on the back door. And there aren't any locks on the bedroom doors. Yeah, sure its a little thing, but it creeps me out. They told us that if we want locks on the bedroom doors, we would have to take care of it ourselves.

Sure the rent at this place is cheaper, but we have spent more money on things that will provide extra storage for our stuff. We will definitely only live here for one year, then we will find another place to live.
