The apartment complex isn't too horrible. The apartment manager is very gossipy, and talks about the neighbors way too much. She hasn't pilfered through any apartments per se, but she relishes the opportunity to accompany the maintenance men into the apartment when they are changing the air filter, which is done quarterly.

Neighbors have complained of roaches and water leakage, but in our apartment the only bugs to be seen are house centipedes (which *eat* roaches and spiders, but still - I haven't seen those nasty roaches.) Exterminator comes about twice a year or so, it seems.

The people that are hired to clean the breezeways do a horrible job. The floors in the breezeways are always streaked from where they were mopped with black mop water (every single time). Recently, there was broken glass and dust on the floor from a crappy cleanup after a florescent light bulb fell from its fixture.

One time, the building next to ours had a 5x10 section of its outside paneling sheered off by a heavy windstorm, exposing the insulation underneath. It took 5 days to get fixed, and it wasn't covered or anything for any amount of that time.

Oh, and I have to mention again - Rose gossips. She's an over-the-hill woman, with nothing better to do than talk everyone's business. Unless you catch her on the phone, you can't drop off a rent check during business hours unless you have 30 minutes to kill so you can hear about whose guest that was peeing in the bushes 2 years ago, and what color bike Rose road when she was a kid, how she hates that the maintenance men smoke in their garage that they work out of, etc. etc.

But for the price, this place is okay. There is both higher and lower quality in Roanoke, with prices that don't always scale as you would think.

I totally agree with what the person above has said.... There are lots of issues with this apartment that you dont really see when you come in to look at the apartment.. My boyfriend and I live in a lower apartment and for the 3 years we have lived here we have had 3 water leaks and it has taken several days even weeks to get fixed. They dont really take it serious when you tell them you have a problem, they just say Ill get to it tomorrow. I really liked having a cheaper rent and a great location but for this hassle to deal with and cleaning up water every time it rains or something busts it sucks.... Rose doesnt need to be working anymore she talks way too much about everyone in this building and I personally dont want to hear every Tom, ---- and Harry's story... We have lived here for 4 years and it always takes the guys a really long time to fix things our bathroom took 6 months to fix the mold on the ceiling and the holes in the ceiling... I totally like the apartment for other things but for this mess I would really like to take my rent else where!!!
