I have had experience in the property management field and I think that the staff at Brittany Commons does a wonderful job handling such a large property. Many of the issues that my fellow residents have expressed simply highlight there inability to open their eyes and their minds and see what really goes on. You are not the only resident here. There are many apartments and many residents that have to be dealt with on a daily basis. To say that maintenace sucks is an overstatement and exaggeration. If you have to wait 48 hours for something minor is it really going to kill you'' In the summertime, if you have an a/c problem it is at least looked at if not repaired, within 24hours and that is a lot faster than what any a/c contractor could offer. If you have an emergency, such as a water leak, it is addressed immediately. It seems like a lot of the people who write negative reviews are unwilling to see the other side of the story and think that they somehow are special. I don't think that the staff is full of mindreaders and that is what a lot of residents expect. As far as the parking goes, people complain if you tow and complain if you don't. If you can't walk a few feet to get to your apartment then you have bigger issues to deal with. Don't be so lazy and think that the office has complete control over everything. Brittany Commons is a beautiful property, with nice apartments and a nice and attentive staff that always makes you feel welcome. I would recommend it to anyone because they offer the most ammenties so you get the most bang for your buck.

Hmmm...20 No's to 13 yes's. I would say there is a problem somewhere here and it isn't the tenants. No amount of amenities can give you good community. This is suppose to be "home"--a recluse to get away from it all. That means the staff needs to give the type of service you would expect from a good, healthy family. Period! As it seems right now, it appears the majority of reviews are saying that is just the opposite. It isn't up to the tenants to "understand". It is up to the landlord to understand. I have been a manager before, too, and when there is this many negatives, it is saying that there needs to be a change. And from management training, I was taught that that change needs to come from management, not from the customer. I am new to this area, looking for a place to call home. I cannot say that I am impressed by the negative reviews I've seen here and will look elsewhere.

Bang for your Buck..obviously written by the Property Mangagement company. That's an all too familiar quote. It's what they all say.

Yes the property is nicely kept but it has no feeling of home. You may have experience in the property management field, but I have experience in renting apartments. Unfortunately this has been my 4th apartment complex in the same amount of years and I have never felt treated so badly. I have lived in bigger complexes and smaller ones. Some beautifully kept grounds and some with sloppy looking foliage and barely any ameneties and this, by far, has been where I have felt the most unhappy!

I concur that the management currently in place needs serious review by Cullen Properties, as I stated in my own review. They haven't done Sandy Sancarranco credit. Those days are gone, unfortunately. NewToVA, you meant "refuge," not "recluse," but you're right. It does need to be a safe haven, and we too had a couple issues with loud neighbors and some challenges, but again, I cannot stress enough that some of these reviews are completely unreasonable. They expect total silence on a ground floor apartment beneath a family of five. That's not how apartments work, not even well constructed apartments. Why? What's the purpose of an apartment? To make money for the management until the tenant leaves, then get another tenant. What's the purpose of a single-family home? To make money for the contractor and be built well enough that they don't have to come back to fix anything. You want the perfect getaway... buy a house. I'm not being flippant, but it's true. Now, you're right, NTV, in that the staff needs to have a family aspect to it, absolutely right... and you're totally correct that if there are negatives, a positive change needs to come from the top. I'm not arguing at ALL with those who feel the current management isn't up to the job, but it's also important that reviewers around the country looking for a place to live don't get turned away from what are really pretty nice apartments simply because vocal, unreasonable people didn't get their diapers changed. Yes, some things need to be improved, but this isn't the unholy hovel some people are making it out to be. That's not fair to the people who DO try very hard there to keep things up.
