We moved here for husband's military training. Certainly is military popular, which I like. People tend to watch out for each other.
I stay at home, so it is important that I feel safe, and I certainly do. Also, being from a small town and moving to a city, I still feel pretty safe here.
Walking distance to grocery and post office. Within 5 miles is major shopping (Home Depot, Kohl's, Target, & Food).
I like our apartment, clean, light, and a decent amount of open space. Master closets aren't both full-sized like they look on the floor plan. Still decent size, but not if you have lots of clothes. I use both closets in the master, my husband uses the closet in the other room. If you have the choice, ask for an apartment that backs up to the trees, they are pretty in the fall. It also makes it feel less apartmenty when you're not staring at another building through your windows.
I love the maintenance workers, they are always kind, courteous, and helpful. Office staff is sometimes snooty, but they do tend to get things done. They were very helpful in the moving part of the process. Also cut us a rent break when the apartment we were supposed to have had maintenance issues the day before we came. They moved us to another apartment, and we will have saved about 1000 over the year because of the break. Would certainly suggest to others.
For TBS students, great location to back gate and Onville gate. Commute to TBS via Onville Gate is about 15 minutes in the morning. Night varies depending on traffic.
