I have just finished reading the other reviews, and I was somewhat shocked. I feel as if I lived in a totally different place all together! I had to check the address to make sure it was the same place. I lived in the Lakewood Apartments for two years, and would still be there if had I not want to relocate due to a job change. I will say, from my own personal experiences, that I have not had a problem (what so ever) with the staff. The two same women that were there when I first got the apartment where the same two that were there when I left. As for the maintenance problems, I had to have my garbage disposal and toilet fixed and both times it was done the same day that I called. I have never gotten a answering machine nor have I ever had them give me any type of an excuse. They have always been kind and courteous to me.



The apartment itself, it was in good condition when I moved in, everything was in order as it should have been. I did not have any problem with the carpet coming up, the fixtures or doors breaking or anything along those lines. Garbage and any other kind of filth wasn?t an issue either, and trust me, I would have been highly upset if that was a problem! As for the neighbors, I did not hear them at all! Matter of fact, I was greatful for that. I have friends in other apartments and you would think that the walls were made of paper because you can hear everything. I lived on the first floor and never heard the person upstairs or on the side of me.



The only problem I hated was the parking, that I can agree on. When I first moved in towing obviously wasn?t enforced until, that is, they switched towing companies. I was informed of this change when a friend went outside shortly after ten p.m. (after being there for only about thirty minutes or so) to find her car was missing. We called the police thinking it had been stolen only to find out that it had been towed instead. I felt terrible!



Shortly after that my own car had been towed once, even though I had the sticker, and my roommates cars (both had valid visitor passes also) were towed on numerous occassions! I never did understand this because there was not a parking problem, there were plenty of parking spaces available. After it was all said and done we then started to park our cars either on the commuter lot (which is located a block away) or on the side of Greenspring Drive (which was located right behind our apartment building) to avoid being towed and being out of $90. Needless to say, this was just added nonsense that I didn?t feel was necessary.



I am not used to the "ghetto" type of living nor do I except anything less then the norm. I am patient and understanding but filth, noise and a unhealthy enivornment would not have been tolerated. However, I did not find this to be the case at Lakewood Apartments. I feel for those that had, or are having, a unpleasant time there and only hope that you could have experienced what I did.
