I lived here for 2 years. The staff was sort of helpful until you got on their bad side for some reason. Then you were not given help.
There was nothing for kids over the age of 7 or 8 to do. There are tot lots, but that is exactly the age group. Nothing for older kids. No place for teens to do anything other than hang out and talk, which they were told they couldn't do.
There was no way of controlling who was in the pool, if pool rules were enforced. If you talked to the staff, you were told to call the police. First you had to witness it, then you had to go back to your unit to report it to the police. By the time they came, the ofenders were gone and the office staff didn't believe you.
The parking was unbelivably awful. If you were lucky enough to get a space near your building, you had better not move or you would be walking at night in an area that was not safe.
I had 2 cars here. Both were keyed. No security. Even with the State Police and County Sherrif living there, it made no differrence.
There was no consideration for the disabled. The few parking spaces that were designated for the disabled would be taken by non-handicapped drivers. If you talked to the office staff, their answer was "Okay, we will tell them. You call the police and have them deal with it." If you call the police then the offending driver would ensure that you didn't get consideration when you tried to do things up and down stairs; such as groceries. If you complained to the office, the staff would let the offending person know who complained and then your neighbors treated you poorly.
There was also no consideration for the disabled persons living there as far as living arrangements in the units.
The walls are not insulated well at all. You can hear your neighbor taking a shower. There is a constant draft in the winter coming in the balcony/patio doors as well as the front doors.
The windows did not seal properly and you expierinced drafts in the winter also.
Not a complex for families. Not geared towards families.
Pet policy changed during time frame while I was living there, but there was never any notice to residents as to this change. And when did happen was told there was no change. This was told to certain residents. This goes back to the "if you get on the bad side of the staff" statement above.
For the property and the area, the rent was too high. It is not affordable. In the 2 years I was there, the rent increased 3 times for myself, and was told by one of the staff during my last 6 months there, that I was lucky, during the last 3 months the rent had gone up 3 times for new people moving in. It was never steady and affordable.
