Cascades Overlook

Coming off of a separation I moved into the Cascades Overlook Apartments as they were the closest to where I was looking and I did not want a hassle. What a mistake.
The apartment (I can not speak for all of them) was outdated...1980's kitchen and bath...but other then that in relatively good condition. Upon initial inspection of the apartment I found there was a very heavy cigarette in the apartment. I asked if the previous owners were smokers and was told no that they were not. I asked if they could air out the apartment and see if the smell improves before my move in. They did. Once moving in there was not a smell. Of course this was because the windows had been opened all night and all day.
But the everytime I would come home I could smell it for a few minutes before I my nose adjusted and I became used to it. Little did I know the person below me was chain smoking in the apartment and it was wafting through the old construction into my apartment. The office didn't care. Noone (except Lee) from that office even made the trip (100 yards) to my apartment to see if my complaint was valid. Noone cared. NOONE. Multiple complaints. The solution was to hang a air freshener against the air filter for the HVAC. Nice. Lee (assistant property manager) even said that they don't really listen to people's complaints because they think everyone is just trying to scam out of their lease contract. Amazing.
I tried to speak to the office about it but they truly believe that everyone is out to get them and just looking to break a lease. All I asked was that they pay to move me to another apartment. They refused...and they refused to keep my lease at a month to month if I did transfer. The office staff is incapable. Meaning that no one in the office can make a decision without consulting the property manager. Meanwhile the property manager is never there. Off on business trips or vacation. In a year in a half living there I saw her once. After some tugging Lee did make the trip to my apartment and I saw that she was concerned for the health of myself and child. But she still couldn't help me as she was only the assistant property manager. My advice to corporate ( Lee at corporate that is) fire your current property manager and move Lee into her position. You are losing business.
There are washer and dryers in unit...but were stackables...takes much more energy and longer.
I can't prove it but I suspect mold throughout the older buildings.
My suggesting to the future apartment dweller possibly reading this review. KEEP LOOKING. There are more recently updated apartments...for cheaper rent. Believe me...I found one and moved. There are better office staffs that are much more competent.
