My husband and I lived in Potomac View for less than a year and it was a nightmare. We got out of our lease because the maintenance problems actually violated Virginia laws. It took maintenance eight months to fix our air conditioning - we had to suffer through a july and august of over 100-degree weather with no a/c at all. During our ten months there, the building had to be evacuated three times because of gas leaks. When maintenance was checking our stove, they actually knocked the connection loose and caused a leak in our apartment that sent me to the hospital. Maintenance was also very bad about coming into the apartment with no notice and no maintenance request.

The apartment size was nice, but the neighborhood was horrible. The central playground attracted groups of loud high schoolers in the middle of the night. I also did not feel safe taking my garbage to the dumpster after dark, as that was also a "hang-out."

The staff was constantly changing, and it was very difficult to get someone to follow up on problems. I am so happy to be out of that apartment complex, and I would not recommend it to anybody. There are other affordable apartments in the area.
